His Majesty Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, exchanged cables of congratulations with BDF Commander-in-chief Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee) which was observed 05 February 2018.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, also exchanged cables of congratulations with BDF Commander-in-Chief marking the same national occasion, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

For his part, BDF Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant-General Dhiab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi hailed the BDF landmark strides and professionalism which enhanced its international standing, paying tribute to HRH the Crown Prince for his dedicated efforts to preserve achievements. He hailed the BDF as the cornerstone of the national march of development and progress.

Meanwhile, King Hamad issued royal decree 16 for 2018 promoting 718 officers from Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) of different military ranks. The promotion marks the kingdom’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of BDF which is observed on February 5th every year.

The BDF Commander-in-Chief conveyed to the promoted officers congratulations of HM the King, the BDF Supreme Commander, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, as well as their best wishes to them of continuous success to achieve more prosperity for Bahrain.


The BDF Commander-in-Chief also issued order to promote 6835 commissioned officers and military personnel of different ranks. He congratulated them on the promotion, calling on them to exert more efforts in assuming their national responsibility of defending the nation and ensuring more progress to BDF. He wished them constant success under the leadership of HM the King.
